Forth Valley Hospital PFI
Laing O’Rourke Scotland appointed Chapel Consultants as Catering Design Consultants to assist them in developing the Patient, Staff and Visitor foodservice facilities with in the New Forth Valley Hospital in Larbert, Scotland.
Forth Valley is one of the largest Hospitals to be built recently in Scotland and is the first UK Hospital to use state-of-the-art robotic technology (which is already in place in Hospitals in Japan, USA and France) to manage the Hospitals materials handling system.
Chapel Consultants Project Director Jackie Snaith and Ventilation Specialist Steve Cole of FV Consultants worked with LOR from inception through to construction on the various catering facilities. These including the main central production kitchen which will produce up to 4000 patients meals per day. A 350 seat capacity Staff & Visitors Restaurant and 3 coffee bar/cafes.
Chapel Consultants also had to work closely with the Project Design Team to ensure that the Patient meals service trolleys were suitable for use with the Robotic delivery system.
