Keepers House

Restaurateurs Peyton & Byrne appointed Chapel Consultants as Catering Design Consultants to assist them in redeveloping the Keepers House facilities at The Royal Academy of Art, Piccadilly, London. The Keepers House facilities are for use by the “Friends of the Royal Academy” as a private club style facility during the day and then open to the public after 4pm. The facilities consist of the Hugh Casson & Belle Shenkman rooms where light lunches and refreshments are served through out the day, a new basement Restaurant and bar area serving a bistro style menu during lunch and dinner, the Architects room used as a private lounge bar and various rooms suitable for private dining. Chapel worked with renowned Architects David Chipperfield to create the highly stylised food and drinks counters within the new and refurbished rooms. The new counters were constructed using enamelled steel in striking colours and zinc. The food counter in the Hugh Casson room incorporated chilled display sections for Deli and Patisserie display. Chapel Consultants Project Director Jackie Snaith and Ventilation Specialist Steve Cole of FV Consultants worked with Peyton and Byrnes project team from inception through to construction on the various catering elements of the project.
